Katteloch by Jan Voss / Artist Book / Limited Edition / Petersen Press 1985

This rare, limited edition artists's book by Jan Voss is entitled Katteloch (I'm not a German speaker, but the title translates to Cat Hole - and may also be a pun on the English word Catalog?). It is a limited edition of 111, published by Petersen Press in 1985 to correspond with an exhibition of the artist at Petersen Gallery in Berlin. The book has 83 prints of cats in different color gradations, each one with a stamped number at the bottom.

According to descriptions I have found of this book online, there were several thousand color variants of this print made, and then the individually numbered prints were bound in the 111 editions, making each set unique. Apparently these prints were also made into a short animated film.

Jan Voss is a German visual artist and printmaker born in 1936.
The book is in good condition. There are some small bends/bumps on the corners of the cardboard cover and some discoloration on the pages. The last page is separating a bit from binding.
